Must see: Caravaggio-inspired street art in Palermo

Caravaggio-inspired street art in Palermo by artist C215

UPDATE – 30 June 2015: All of the paintings have been stolen by a group of greedy idiots who obviously don’t know what street art is all about. Learn more here. On behalf of my city, I’m terribly sorry.

Earlier this week month (February 2015) French artist C215 has been painting beautiful Caravaggio-inspired stencils all over Palermo. New masterpieces are popping up every day and someone has started a new list on Wiralist to keep count and share the beauty.

Who is C215

Christian Guémy, aka C215, is a street artist from Paris, often described as ‘the French answer to Banksy’. You can find out more about his works and his recent visit to Sicily on his Instagram page.

Enjoy this round up of Caravaggio street art, vote for your favourite piece and, if you’re lucky enough to spot a new one, feel free to add it to the list!
